Corydalis, CBD, and Pain Response
We asked Jason Miller, DACM, Chief Formulator of Green Earth Medicinals, to explain why he includes Corydalis extract (Corydalis yanhusuo)in his CBD botanical formulations.
Corydalis has a long history of use in traditional Chinese medicine as a pain relieving botanical that relieves blood stagnation. It has been traditionally used for menstrual and abdominal pain, as well as for headaches and spasticity.Corydalis is one of the many ingredients that makes our CBD Relief | Topical Cream so fast-acting and effective. It contains a group of alkaloids that have been studied for their pain relieving effects via many pathways, including dopamine and opioid receptor networks.
Scientists have isolated a number of alkaloids from the tuber of corydalis, including corydaline, tetrahydropalmatine (THP), dl-Tetrahydropalmatine (dl-THP), dehydrocorybulbine (DHCB), protopine, tetrahydrocoptisine, tetrahydrocolumbamine, and corybulbine.
At Green Earth Medicinals, we combine full-spectrum CBD with other botanicals to create uniquely effective products. To learn more about why we do this, please watch this educational video from our Understanding CBD video series:
