Quality Program
Green Earth Medicinals' Quality Program
At Green Earth Medicinals, we take product quality and quality control VERY seriously. Not only do we follow strict cGMP guidelines, but we also use the highest-quality ingredients available, many of which are sourced locally in Southern Oregon, and prioritize consistency through every step of our formulation process. This dedication means that we do not cut any corners, resulting in high-quality clinically-formulated products to support your health.
Our quality assurance measures can be broken into 6 areas: formulation, ingredient/packaging procurement, product assembly/packaging, QA/QC, distribution and customer service. Read more about our commitment to quality below:

Distribution and Customer Service
- Ingredients are chosen for their safety and efficacy
- Specifications for cultivars, extraction parameters, and taste/smell/appearance/feel are determined to maximize botanical synergy and customer experience
- Reviews of Scientific Literature are performed to ensure formulas maximize efficacy potential.
- Suppliers are evaluated for quality and long-term ingredient availability
- Only Non-GMO and all natural products are considered
- Organic and ethically sourced options are chosen as much as possible
- Prototypes are created and distributed to test groups for evaluation
- Refined prototypes are distributed to a wider test group to check for efficacy and user experience
- Scaled-up procedures are tested with pilot batches before entering full production
- Farming partners are chosen based on their organic and sustainable sun-grown growing practices as well as high quality crop yields
- Cultivars are chosen that have a wide range of medicinally active constituents that can be yielded consistently from year to year.
- Extraction is not from mass harvested “biomass” or trim”, but from high quality flowering tops and leaves
- Harvest Lots are tested multiple times pre and post harvest to ensure purity, consistency and quality
- Materials are carefully dried, cured, and stored to maintain maximum possible freshness and quality
- Before being made available for extraction, harvest lots go through thorough inspection and identification to ensure only the highest quality hemp is used, and to avoid any potential contamination
- Extraction parameters are chosen for maximum medicinal efficacy, rather than maximum yield
- Never heated above 120°F to preserve delicate molecules such as terpenes
- Refinement only to remove fats and waxes
- All equipment is rigorously cleaned, sanitized, and maintained
- Careful records kept to ensure repeatable results
- Extract is carefully stored to avoid degradation
- Full Oregon State compliance testing is completed for each batch of hemp extract
- Ingredient suppliers must provide documentation of origin, processing parameters, facility certifications (eg: GMP, ISO, food grade, organic, non-GMO, kosher/halal, etc), product specifications, and safety data sheets
- Suppliers must complete an annual quality survey to maintain approved supplier status
- We do not buy product-related materials from unapproved suppliers
- Purchased materials must be accompanied by documentation:
- Ingredients: Certificates of Analysis confirming identity and purity, and showing conformance with specifications
- Packaging: Certificates of Conformance showing conformance with specifications
- Each purchase is inspected for defects, contamination, and consistent quality; ingredients are regularly tested in micro batches to ensure consistent customer experience and packaging materials are verified for sanitation with a state of the art Hygiene Monitoring (ATP) Meter.
- A manufacturing schedule is used which maximizes the shelf-life of products for customers
- Only high quality food-grade equipment and utensils are used, and all contact surfaces are checked for product compatibility
- PPE (smock, powder-free exam gloves, face mask, hair nets, eye protection) is worn at all times during set-up, product assembly, and cleaning
- Strict sanitation and cleaning protocols are used at every stage
- Products are tested in-house for consistency and quality before bottling
- Samples are taken to check for correct taste/smell/color/viscosity
- Quality Control Checkpoints are present at multiple stages throughout the manufacturing process following cGMP guidelines as determined by the FDA
- Batch Manufacturing plans are used at every stage of manufacturing to record every step and check for accuracy, proper sanitation, proper assembly procedures, and appropriate batch sizes
- Every measurement is performed with a two-party verification and sign-off
- Finished batches are tested for quality before and after bottling
- After bottling, products are quarantined until the batch has passed 3rd party-testing, and after all QA/QC procedures are completed
- Every batch is tested by 3rd parties for potency and purity
- Every batch undergoes a 6-part in-house inspection for quality before being released for distribution
- All team members are trained on a regular basis on Green Earth Medicinals’ quality standards
- All procedures are re-evaluated on a regular basis for consistency checks and process improvements
